Frequently asked questions
As a wedding photographer with over 10 years of experience, I know all the ins and outs of wedding planning and the booking process. I’m aware that my couples often marry for the first time and there might be some questions left unanswered.
Some of those are answered here on this page – I hope it’s helpful! If you feel that a question is missing, please don’t hesitate to contact me:
Where are you located? Where do you travel for weddings?
I live in Berlin and I travel throughout Germany and Europe for weddings & photo sessions!
I know the best spots especially in Paris, Venice and Edinburgh. I used to live in Scotland, so I speak English fluently.
What are your prices?
I know that budget and pricing is an important piece of wedding planning. Since I customize each proposal for my couples, I can’t give out general pricing info. Most of my couples spend around 3000 € for their wedding day.
We’ve never been professionally photographed before, we’re so awkward in front of the camera.
I know that almost all of my couples are not professional models and I can assure you, that it’s not problem at all. I will guide you into romantic poses and create wonderful romantic images of and for you!
We really don’t know what we’re doing, will you help us?
I know the word „posing“ has kind of a bad connotation to it. But it’s actually just me helping you and guiding you. You don’t need to know what to do beforehand… simply relax and enjoy the experience!
How will you be dressed?
I often wear either a light linen suit, that reflects the sun back to you or I’ll come in classic black. If you have a special dress code you would like me be a part of it, let me know.
Are you photographing alone or do you have a second shooter?
I am alone, but I am happy to bring along an assistant or second shooter if you want to!
My wedding will not be as fancy as the weddings in your portfolio. Would you still shoot it?
Of course – there’s always something beautiful and it’s my job to create it! Please be aware that my light and airy style depends on our surroundings – if you celebrate in a darker venue, your images will naturally turn out not as bright.
What is it like having you at our wedding?
I am your ambassador of joy! I am your cheerleader and another friend and bridesmaid on your wedding day. We will have so much fun and I can’t wait to capture your big day!
Will we receive high-resolution files? Can we print our images?
Yes, in your online gallery you will receive your images in web resolution. The very last sub-gallery contains all your images in chronological order and in high-resolution.
The smaller file sizes are perfect for the standard 10×15 prints. The high-resolutions files are great for albums and huge prints.
How do we get our images?
In this short video you will see how the online gallery works. The first thing you will see are my absolute favorite images – the ones I would love to show on the blog / social media.
You can download each image individually or the whole sub gallery as a ZIP folder.
You will find the sub galleries with all the events under the title image and welcome text.
In the edit mode, you can select images and give them a little red flag – this is how I know which images NOT to show on my blog.
In the gallery „All images (HD)“ you can create a selection of the images you would like to put in your wedding album, if you choose to yourself.

When will we get our photos?
You’ll receive a sneak peek the day of your wedding. My first selection of my favorite images is delivered a week after your wedding. Depending on how many weddings I’ll have in a month, the whole gallery will be finished 4-6 weeks after your wedding!
How many images will we get?
I don’t have a set amount of images you will receive – it depends on the events of your day and how much is actually happening. You can estimate around 50-75 images per hour.
Can we have the RAW files?
Short answer: no.
RAW files are truly „raw“ and always need some kind of editing. Editing in my distinct style is part of my service and art as a photographer.

What is the difference between Copyright and Usage License?
As the photographer I own the copyright of all the images I create.
As a client, you will receive usage rights which is forever and ever. You will also receive printing rights.
You can’t use your images commercially or enter them in giveaways – please talk to me if you want to use the images other than privately.
Can I edit the images myself?
Please don’t. As already stated with the RAW question: editing is part of my service and part of my style. You can crop images (that might happen automatically when you upload them somewhere) but please refrain from using a filter on top.
Can you photoshop us to be skinnier?
All jokes aside, I am not a plastic surgeon. I will reduce and remove temporal blemishes but I am not doing heavy photoshop work to alter bodies. I can assure you: you are beautiful the way you are! And I have some tricks up my sleeves to truly make you shine.
Which images will you show on the blog?
Of course I would love to share some of your images on my blog and social media. I also know that each of us has a different view of ourselves – I might love an image and you might think it’s not that good.
In your online gallery you will get a preview of the images I would like to showcase and can VETO any image that you don’t want published.
Will you photograph family formals?
Yes, always – I don’t often or rather never show these on my blog due to privacy reasons, but of course we will do family formals and you’ll receive beautiful candids of your guests.
do you show images of guests?
No. Sometimes if they are in the background and not really visible. I never publish images of kids.
What equipment do you use?
My main camera is a mirrorless camera by Canon – R6 Mark ii. My backup camera is also from Canon, the 5D Mark IV.
Most often I shoot with prime lenses, because I like the look of them. I have a variety to lenses to create exactly the kind of images I envision for your wedding day.
Do you have back-up equipment?
Yes, one extra camera, different lenses, batteries, cards, etc. My cameras are also setup to record on two different cards simultaneously.
Do you use lighting equipment?
I use available light (meaning: the sun) whenever I can. I do have several flashes for the evening and dance shots.
What is the general process?
After filling out the contact form, you will get a confirmation mail and we schedule a short phone call to talk about important key points. I will sit down to create your custom proposal and we will meet online where we get to know each other and talk more about your wedding! I will also explain how I work and talk you through the proposal. After saying „I do“, you will get a contract and an initial invoice to save your date.
How do we book you?
Simply fill out the contact form! After our meetings, you will receive a contract and an invoice for the non-refundable down payment of 10% of the total sum. After signing and paying, you got yourself an amazing wedding photographer!
When should we book you?
Of course I would love to get to know you as soon as possible but sometimes life and bureaucracy gets in the way. Whenever you are ready, I’m happy to receive your inquiry.
We’re not sure how many hours of coverage we need...
Absolutely valid! My suggestion: think about the main events you want to get photographed and build your timeline around that. This looks completely different for each couple. You can also always book the standard coverage of 6 hours and add on more if you need to!
Do you offer videography?
No, as of now, I only offer photography. If you need recommendations for videographers, I happily provide this for you.
What form of payment do you accept?
Standard bank transfer. You will receive an invoice automatically after your session/event date.
Do you make wedding Albums?
Yes! Your images shouldn’t live on your computer. It’s always so fun to actually flip through an album and remember the most special moments of your wedding day.
Do we get to select the images that go into our Album?
You can decide if you want to select the images yourself but in my experience this is often overwhelming. Most of my couples opt to let me make the initial selection and make their changes afterwards.
Can we order an Album after the wedding?
Of course, I am always happy to create an album for you. You can contact me up to 2 years after your wedding day to create an album.
Can we order more than one album?
Yes – I do have special rates for parent albums. Those are copies of your own album in a smaller version. A perfect gift for Christmas or as a general Thank You!
What if the weather is bad during our session?
I do have a special connection to Petrus, and he never lets me down. I also have clear umbrellas, that look super cute in images. At a rainy day it’s important to be flexible and relax – there’s always going to be a break.
What if we need to reschedule?
Please let me know as soon as possible so we can make changes to our plans accordingly.
What if you get sick and can no longer come to our wedding?
Knocking on wood but I never once missed a session or wedding – never had to. IF the worst case does happen, I am part of several networks of amazing wedding photographers that can come and cover for me.
